We offer testing for potable drinking water. Our laboratory is ready to assist you in your regular compliance monitoring, in identifying a contamination problem, or any other drinking water issue you may be facing.

  • Please pick up a sample container from the treatment plant at 630 Mountain View St. during regular business hours.

  • Extreme care must be used to protect the sample from contamination. Do not rinse out the vial prior to collecting the sample. Avoid contact with the inside of the vial and lid. Starting with a sterile vial and good sample is critical.

  • To collect a sample from a tap, select a tap in frequent use and allow the water to run for about five minutes before filling the vial. Avoid leaky taps since water flow over the surface of the tap may contaminate the sample.

  • Fill the vial to the 100 ml mark. Do not underfill or overfill the sample bottle. 100 ml is required along with ample airspace for mixing.

  • Samples should be brought to the laboratory as soon as possible.

  • Samples should be stored and transported at a temperature of between 1° C and 10° C. The recommended method of refrigeration is “Blue Ice”. Dry Ice should never be used.

  • Drop off the sample at the treatment plant between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday (excluding holidays).

  • The cost of the test is $20.00 per test payable when the sample is dropped off. We accept cash or check only.
